Title:   " Voices on the Prairie "

Prairie Schooner, Nebraska’s widely acclaimed literary magazine and the recipient of the 1996 Governor’s Arts Award has been in publication for 70 years. In this NETCHE-produced program, Hilda Raz, editor of Prairie Schooner, discusses her own experience as a poet as well what she looks for when selecting poetry for publication. Three Nebraska writers and a poem by each are featured. These literary artists discuss the inspiration for the selected poems, what motivates them to write and the challenges they face in risking rejection and continuing to believe in the readers and the writing. The program provides incentive and encouragement for young writers.
