Title:   " Fighting Liberal: A Portrait of Senator George Norris, The "

Produced by Nebraska ETV Network, "The Fighting Liberal" documents the life of George Norris, an extraordinary politician who set the standard for the politics of conscience during the 40 years he represented Nebraska in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. During a Washington career that ran from 1903 to 1943, Norris successfully challenged auto magnate Henry Ford, the power of the Speaker of the House and even the leadership of his own political party. He authored legislation creating the Tennessee Valley Authority and Rural Electrification Administration, fathered Nebraska’s public power system and led the campaign that established Nebraska’s unicameral legislature.
