Instructional Video Catalog: Title Description
Title: " Ages 4 & 5 "
Many times, the nursery school is where a child first engages in a group experience with other children of his or her age without parents. It is a child's community, a place not only to grow physically, but socially, emotionally and mentally as well. What constitutes a good nursery school? How much education should be expected in this setting? To better answer these questions, NETCHE cameras visit the Ruth Staples Child Development Laboratory at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where children are observed at play and engaged in a variety of learning experiences. According to Mrs. Petelle, the adequate nursery school should have a flexible program, be a place for living and learning, and offer an enjoyable experience to the children.
