An edited version of a NETCHE teleconference, this program examines Nebraska's global ties and connections and their importance to the economic development of the state. Topics include the types of Nebraska businesses involved in international trade/marketing, the monetary value of Nebraska exports, the role of U.S. foreign aid, and the role of international banking/financing.
The program features comments and insights from a panel of experts: Steve Buttress, former Director of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development; Dr. Wade German, Omaha Business Consultant; Dr. Robert Valentine, Vice President of International Affairs of Chief Automotive in Grand Island; and Bill Lapp, Manager of Economic Research, Con Agra, Inc. These panelists share their personal experiences in international marketing, provide insight into Nebraska's current role in the global picture, and discuss trends and expectations for the future.
