Title:   " People, The "

This segment describes the struggles of the Omaha to reconcile the differences between their world and the world of the white man. But it has been almost impossible. Where the Omaha language emphasized verbs, the white man's emphasized nouns. Where the Omaha economy was cooperative, the white man's was competitive. Where the Omaha's time was cyclical, the white man's was linear. Today, the Omaha still suffer from the effects of these deep cultural differences. The lesson deals with the broad spectrum of Omaha living on the reservation.
