Title: " Wind Energy "
The dwindling supplies of hydrocarbon fuels, and the energy crisis in general, have forced us to take a second look at windmills as energy generators. Dr. Hughes explains the nuances of this method of energy generation. Several projects are detailed, including the Grandpa's Knob project in Vermont. That project was able to generate over a million watts of electricity in a 25 mph wind until a catastrophic blade failure halted the windmill. Dr. Hughes also assesses the cost effectiveness of windmills, asserting that "current oil and gas prices are getting close to the point where wind energy electrical generation systems will be economically practical in the near future."
